The crime in the world today is ever increasing with many criminal activities happening because of various reasons. For this reason, numerous facilities hold criminals away and keep the world safe. However, how safe are these prisons for the inmates it holds? These are some of the most unsafe places any prisoner can be. Below are the top 11 most dangerous prisons in America 2022.

11. Pelican Bay State Prison; Crescent City in California

Most Dangerous Prisons In America 2019

This prison is one of the most dangerous prisons that America has. If anyone hears that they are sentenced, and they are going to serve their time here, the best thing they can do is hope that they are tough enough to handle. This prison is crowded by people who have been part of the largest drug cartels, and the best thing they are good at is activities that relate to gangs. If you are an employee in this prison, you also ought to worry. All the assaults are mostly directed to the staff.

10. Men’s Central Jail and Twin Towers Correctional Facility Found in Los Angeles, California

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

This correctional facility is unlike any other. I think it wins the position of the most crowded prison in America. If there is any correctional facility that is overpopulated in California, some inmates are transferred to this facility. This has led to overpopulation and thus a very increased rate of crime in the facility. There are numerous cases of assault and rape on a daily basis and the guards do nothing about it. I believe the over crowdedness plays a significant role in the neglecting of the guards.

9. United States Penitentiary Pollock: Grant Parish in Louisiana

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

The federal government is the administration behind the United States penitentiary Pollock. The staff is primarily made up of the locals from the south, and the last thing they are is patient, hospitable, and friendly. This prison has a very high number of inmates murder, and some crimes have gone unsolved. It is hosts one of the most dangerous criminals, Jose Robledo Nava who is serving a life sentence. There is no safety where this man is. There is a chance that there are more unresolved murders that they are letting on. This just shows the epic fail of the administration.

8. Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

This prison holds some of the most ruthless murderers the world has ever seen. These criminals are as violent as it gets. The majority of people in there are sentenced because of murder. If you have ever heard of names like Julius and Charles Luciano, then you should know they were inmates in this place. However, they were sentenced to death via the electric chair. This just shows you that the criminals that get sentenced to this place are hardcore.

7. Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, Louisiana

Most Dangerous Prisons In America 2019

This is by far one of the largest maximum security prisons found in the United States of America. This prison is famously known as the Alcatraz of the South by many people. It can accommodate a total of five thousand inmates. With such a population of criminals, you can be sure that the crime rate is very high in there. The violence against inmates as well as their abuse is rampant to the extent that it is unmanageable. This prison has a history of sexual slavery as of the year 1960s.

6. Folsom State Prison In Folsom, California

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

This is one of the oldest prisons in the state of California. It hosts some of the most notorious criminals in California. It is a maximum security facility that has a deeply rooted issue with gang-related violence among the inmates. Many fights against the prison gangs break out very often, and they always end up with massive injuries to both the staff and the inmates.

5. Orleans Parish Prison in New Orleans, Louisiana

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

The gross misconduct of the staff in this place is saddening. The insecurity in this prison is just overwhelming, and it scares one to even think about it. If there are guards who know how to ignore inmate violence, then it is this particular prison. Many inmates have been taken to the emergency room over the years because of negligence, and this is wrong on every level.

4. Alcatraz in San Francisco, California

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

This prison is also known as ‘The Rock,’ and it is a very famous prison. The main reason why it is well known is that it inspires fear in many people. Any criminal who gets sentenced to this place fears for their life not because of the fellow criminals but because of the guards. The guards are extremely ruthless, and they subject the prisoners to extreme punishments that leave the inmates psychologically disoriented and disabled. There is also a high degree of violence between the inmates. If you will face attacks from fellow inmates and the guard alike, how will you survive?

3. Holman Correctional Facility in Escambia County, Alabama

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

A man who is wickedly wicked must never be allowed to even have any access to the smell of alcohol let alone drinking it. The prisoners found in Holman Correctional facility can make liquor for themselves. This is just bad. Already they have it in their minds that they cannot be taken to any prison because they are already in one. This means that there is no holding back to the worst things they can do. For a prison to be nicknamed a slaughter house can only mean that the worst things happen there. If you ever get sentenced to this play, carry your rosary.

2. San Quentin State Prison in San Rafael, California

Most Dangerous Prisons In America 2019

If there are prisons that have the highest number of death rates, then this prison is one of them. A lot of gang-related activities take place in there, and the guard does nothing about it. This is because the rate of corruption is also very high. As if that is not enough, these gang-related activities are usually racial. This just makes things even worse. When the gang riots are racial, things just escalate to higher levels. We are living in a world where racial margins have been reduced remarkably. The prison is the most unsafe place and especially this one. Having racism in there is not something to be taken lightly.

1. United States Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum Facility Florence in Fremont County, Colorado

Most Dangerous Prisons In America

This is a prison that can shake you to the core of your being. It has some of the world’s most notorious criminals who have killed so many people mercilessly without any remorse. I highly doubt being locked up makes them wish they did things differently. These prisoners do not have hearts. There is a big ball o ice where their hearts are supposed to be. They are deranged psychopaths that are beyond repair. The scariest thing is that they are in one prison all of them. I can only hope they never get the chance to speak to each other. Nobody needs psychopaths bonding over the crimes they have committed. They may just plan a worst thing.

In as much as justice must be served, there is a need to ensure that it is done to maximally. Everyone is always happy when a criminal is put behind bars. After all, it is a good thing to know that they cannot hurt anyone ever again. Even so, is it justice when they are a put in a place where they are always facing frustrations, abuse, and even death on a daily basis? If you think this is fair, maybe you should imagine one of your relatives being locked up in one of these prisons. The conditions of these prisons should be improved. No prisoner has time to think about what they did if they are always engaging in the same activities that landed them there.

  1. Okay Alcatraz is closed so what the f**k your saying about it is absurd and absolute bullshit and secondly you mentioned a huge mistake on the listing for Sing Sing by saying Julius and Charles Luciano we’re both convicted and sentenced to death by the electric chair, you should of mentioned Julius and Ethel Rosenberg who were convicted of being spies and sentenced to death for espionage, Charles “Lucky” Luciano was the mobster and founder of the American La Cosa Nostra and never died at Sing Sing, he died in Naples, Italy and my great uncle was one of his many closest advisors by his side (Gennaro Carlo Di Francese)

  2. How about imagining the criminals that hurt or killed your relatives and that’s why they are there. These criminals put themselves there and have no one to blame but themselves. They should not have TV or anything but four walls to look at. So sick of people feeling sorry for these hard core killers. Should bring back public hangings and maybe some of this crime would stop. I don’t and will never feel sorry for a criminal hurting the innocent.

  3. Ive been in jail once for two and a half hours, NO…more like three.
All though there were no other people at the time, I started a gang.
I call us the “exit only “.
    Its not an inside joke..
